bupa care homes

Photon Energy installed over 550 kWp of PV on 8 different operational care homes for BUPA located across London, Essex, Kent and Yorkshire.

The 8 care homes were installed with either Trina 250Wp or Trina 275Wp monocrystalline PV modules. The PV arrays were all retrofitted and designed to gain the maximum output from the southern, south-eastern and south-western facing roofs.

Tendering for the initial pilot sites, Photon Energy built a business case around its excellent engineering track record to secure the trial installations. Delivering these on time and on budget opened up 2 more phases of work.

Photon Energy was appointed to manage all phases of the installation. Our tender for the work was scored highly due to our commercial competitiveness and our understanding of the requirement to cause minimal disruption during install.

A typical care home (using Chase View Care Home, Romford, Essex as an example) will generate 68.90 kWh/year and save 36 tCO₂/year.

Photon Energy were contracted to install systems on 8 live care homes, delivering over 550 kWp of Solar PV. The products used had to come from Tier 1 manufacturers with track records of ethical and environmentally friendly manufacturing techniques.

Jenny Palfreyman, Senior Engineer of Photon Energy, said “a global healthcare company placing orders with Photon Energy is a big thumbs up for our engineering integrity and our ability to deliver projects.”
