Taylor Wimpey awarded Photon Energy the contract to install 68.25 kWp of solar PV on 70 homes and 5 blocks of flats at Leybourne Chase, a new development in the grounds of a former manor house in West Malling, Kent.

A Viridian Solar Clearline Fusion monocrystalline in-roof system was specified in order to provide a seamless finish on the roofs of both the houses and flats. Each home features a 0.75 kWp solar PV system that will generate an estimated 660 to 840 kWh of clean electricity per annum, dependent on the pitch and orientation of the roof.

Solis mini 700 inverters were connected to the solar PV in each of the homes and various Omniksol inverters were selected for the blocks of flats.

The energy generated by the solar PV should total 72,125 kWh/year and save 37 tCO₂.

Leybourne Chase is a development of eco-friendly new homes, comprising of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses and apartments, in the grounds of a former manor house, a semi-rural location on the outskirts of West Malling, Kent.

Tom Church, Site Manager at Taylor Wimpey said: “We are very happy with the overall quality of Photon Energy’s work and the look of the in-roof system.”
