prologis - solar plus storage

Photon Energy won the tender from Lewis and Beddows to install a ground-breaking solar and storage system for Prologis logistics group at their new £12m development at Pineham, Northampton, built by the Buckingham Group.

Careful consideration went into the design of the new building to ensure maximum energy efficiency and to allow most of the clean energy generated from the solar PV to be used on site.

This pilot project featured a 130.14 kWp array of Trina 270 kWp modules and a stack of 4 Tesla Powerwall 2s, designed to have a 14 kWh capacity (56 kWh in total). The modules were fixed to the steel trapezoidal roof using a K2 SpeedRail system.

The Solis inverters were positioned in the main office plant deck, with cabling routed to minimise penetrations through the façade.

This 211,304 square foot building located at Prologis Park Pineham, has been designed to be a ‘Grade A’ distribution building, with a high specification including LED lighting alongside the solar PV and battery storage technology.

Upon completion of the project, Steve Ward, Project Manager at Lewis and Beddows said:

Scott was one of the best on site engineers I have worked with and on any further projects I would be requesting his attendance.”
