the deanery academy

Photon Energy has installed 168kwp of solar pv for the deanery academy in swindon.

Photon Energy were contracted by BAM Construction, a regular client to install a solar PV system at The Deanery Church of England Academy in Swindon.

The system comprises of 623 Trina 270 Wp PV modules pitched roof mounted and 3 solis 50kW inverters.

A K2 systems SolidRail mounting system was fixed on roof manufacturer Euroclad approved Euroseam clamps. This design allowed walkways between the solar PV arrays to allow easy access for maintenance.

With dedicated G59 PV rely panel board, the PV system will generate around 135,900kWh/ annum and save 70 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.

Work began on the £25m project in August 2017, the Deanery will be a secondary school and increase choice for the Borough as a Church of England School. The new three storey building has been fit out with sports and arts facilities, for its opening in September 2019.

Abu Luswata, Senior Project Engineer at Photon Energy said:

“It’s a privilege to have been involved in the planning, design and management of the Solar PV project at The Deanery Academy. The commitment of schools to have such a focus on clean renewable energy is a great step forward for generations to come.”
