Photon demonstrates its commitment to health and safety

In the six years since Photon was established we are extremely proud of the fact that our health and safety record has been exemplary. We have been pleased not to have had any serious or reportable incidents during the installation of over 5MW of renewable energy systems. However, we are not complacent and are always looking to improve our working practices to ensure the continued safety of our staff.

We are very pleased to announce that we have just been awarded the Worksafe Contractor membership certificate as a Principal Contractor as well as retaining our membership of the scheme as a Designer.

By upgrading our membership from Contractor to Principal Contractor,
our clients can be assured that we are fully competent to manage projects that fall under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.

Many clients will now only use contractors and consultants selected from an approved database who have demonstrated the appropriate level of competence in their H&S management systems. Clients can be assured that contractors and consultants who have been assessed and accredited by SMAS have achieved the threshold of competence to provide specific services.

SMAS currently manages the Approved Contractor lists for many of the major house-builders and construction organisations in the UK.

We are also continuing to develop our health and safety expertise through our commitment to training for our staff. Our director with responsibility for health and safety, Jonathan Bates, and one of our engineers, William Delabre, has just completed the CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme course.
