Bournemouth University Facilities Block

Bournemouth University awarded Photon Energy the contract to retrofit 145.45 kWp of solar PV on their facilities block. This is the 4th project we have completed for the university, providing them with a combined total of 325.54 kWp of solar PV.

We were tasked with designing a solar PV system that maximised output on the narrow roof areas and as such, a high specification system was selected featuring SunPower 360 Wp modules and SolarEdge inverters. By combining the highest efficiency modules available worldwide with the SolarEdge technology, Bournemouth University could be confident that the arrays were delivering an optimal   performance.

The SolarEdge inverters, with an optimiser per pair of modules and GSM, will enable continuous monitoring, right down to module level. This will ensure that alongside having the highest performing solar PV system possible, that Bournemouth University will be able to quickly identify any faults and minimise any downtime.

Neil Davies, Estates Manager at Bournemouth University said:

“We were pleased with Photon's attention to detail throughout the planning stages of this project. They were able to be flexible when the installation had to be delayed and they performed well on site, delivering a high quality installation whilst maintaining excellent standards of health & safety.”
