Bournemouth University Studland house

Photon energy retrofitted 21.6kWP solar pv for bournemouth university, studland house.

Photon Energy sees its sixth installation at Bournemouth University. The initial 4kWp system was removed and redesigned to 21kWp system.

The innovative design is to enable additional solar PV panels to be installed on the existing roof.

Custom made Sunfixings mounting system was used to maximise the energy output generated. Sunpower PV modules were selected along with SolarEdge inverter technology, providing the university with an annual energy generation target 20,060 kWh of green energy.

Photon Energy completed the project within a week so that the University can benefit from the renewable energy as soon as possible.

In the reception area of the Studland House Building is an electronic display that highlights how the solar panels are used, how much energy has currently been generate along with co2 savings. This is monitored online and is accessible 24/7. The design of the display is to create awareness of renewable energy for staff, students and visitors.

Abu Luswata, Senior Engineer of Photon Energy, said, “We are proud to be back at Bournemouth University for our sixth installation. Our reputation with the university precedes itself and we are happy to always provide the university with Solar PV systems, for cleaner energy.”
