gloriana estate, essex
- willmott dixon
Photon Energy was awarded the contract, in early 2016, to install 105.5 kWp of solar PV at Gloriana housing estate, St Chads, Tilbury, Thurrock, Essex, by regular client Willmott Dixon.
The 128 houses on the new estate were mainly 2-3 bed homes with between 3-6 modules installed, with system sizes ranging from 0.75-1.5 kWp.
Integrated roof-tiles were chosen for their sleek finish and were installed across all the homes. We installed a small number of Sunfixings systems featuring 250 Wp modules, however the majority of roofs were integrated with Viridian Solar Clearline fusion panels.
The energy generated by the solar PV should total 98,882 kWh/year and save 50.31 tCO₂.
Gloriana, is a private company, owned wholly by Thurrock Council, which aims to provide affordable housing to the local community. This innovative private housing scheme was created to kick-start the building of reasonably priced homes.
Spencer Smart, Construction Manager at Willmott Dixon said: “We’re delighted with the quality of the installation work, the neat finish and the overall look of the Viridian in-roof modules.”
