phoenix avenue, wokingham - hill

Photon Energy has installed 94.64 kWp of solar PV at Phoenix Avenue, Wokingham, a development of 48 affordable houses and two blocks of flats, owned by Wokingham Borough Council’s housing company, Berry Brook Homes.

Hill awarded us the contract to install a 1.56 kWp solar PV system for each home and an 8.32 and 11.44 kWp array on each of the blocks of flats. Solar World 260Wp modules were selected for the majority of the properties.

Each house featured 6 modules mounted a K2 Systems SolidRail Light system and connected to either a Solis mini or Omniksol inverter.

The design of the terraced houses enabled us to work on four houses simultaneously, completing the project in just over 12 months.

The solar PV is expected to generate 82,330 kWh of electricity and save 42.7 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.

Jason Hanney, Technical Manager at Hill, said: “This was a challenging development and Photon Energy’s engagement was refreshing and uplifting. They were professional and proactive throughout the process which allowed for smooth installation.”
