wandsworth waste recycling

Photon Energy installed a 50 kWp PV system for the Western Riverside Waste Authority in Wandsworth for Cory Environmental Services.

The PV system consists of 210 x LDK 235 Wp polycrystalline PV modules. The PV modules are connected to Solarmax inverters that have been mounted in the plant room. The modules have been mounted on the standing seam roof using a K2 mounting system. The system has been designed to produce 38,280 kWh/annum and save 20.87 tCO2/year.

Western Riverside is a waste disposal authority region covering four London boroughs: Hammersmith and Fulham, Lambeth, Wandsworth and Kensington and Chelsea.

Cory Environmental the Authority’s Waste Management Services Contractor, operates two waste transfer stations situated on the River Thames in South London; one in Wandsworth and the other in Battersea.

The Authority approved the installation of a PV system on the roof of the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) at Smugglers Way in Wandsworth.

The system was designed around specific requirements that the Authority requested. Power output warranties on the modules needed to be >90% 12 years and >80% 25 years.

Mark Broxup, General Manager of Western Riverside Waste Authority, said, “Photon Energy worked diligently to make sure our timescales for installation were met. Their project management and site teams were excellent.”
