Havelock Road

Photon Energy has installed 253kWp of solar PV at Havelock Road, Southall in London.

In 2015 Bouygues UK confirmed an order in excess of £45m to deliver two phases of a large regeneration project in West London for social housing provider Catalyst Housing.

Photon Energy was contracted to install 253 kWp at Havelock Road. The project was divided into two phases and over the course of the project Photon Energy installed 900 solar PV panels.

Across the individual houses, a combination of Trina PV modules and Solis inverters were used. In the blocks of flats, Trina PV modules were used with Omnik inverters.

Working alongside Bouygues, Photon Energy were able to deliver a programme that was on time and met the client’s completion schedule.

The Havelock Estate in Southall had provided just under 300 new homes in the area, the homes have been spread across six new apartment buildings as well as two and three storey houses. In addition to incorporating solar PV, some of the blocks of flats include brown and green roofs to encourage areas for biodiversity. Some areas of the development aim to deliver traditional streets and homes centered on green space.

The commissioned project is another major development project for Bouygues UK, which works alongside other significant regeneration schemes across London.

Eva Tejedor, Senior Project Engineer at Photon Energy said:

“Our strong relationship with Bouygues means that we continue to work with them to create new homes that are fit for the future. Although the two phases of the project have been tricky to manage, we are pleased with the outcome. It is great to see new housing developments introducing solar PV as a standard.”

Matt Elwell, Senior Site Manager at Bouygues said:

“The work completed at Havelock Road has been a great benefit to the local community. It was a pleasure to work with Photon Energy in providing energy efficient homes, their staff were professional and efficient throughout the design and installation process.”
