Parc Eirin

Photon Energy has installed 164kWp Solar PV at Parc Eirin in tonyrefail, porth.

Working closely with Sero Homes, Photon Energy won the tender from Morganstone to install PV, battery storage and EV charging points for the new development at Parc Eirin.

Technological developments have created synergies between solar PV, battery storage systems and EV charging with decreasing costs making installing the technology a viable option for all new homes. This new development of over 200 low carbon homes showcases the home of the future.

The average property has 12 x 300Wp Viridian Clearline Fusion solar panels connected to a 5kWh sonnenBatterie storage system with a 3-phase, Home Fast Newmotion AC smart charge point.

New innovation at the development means that the low carbon homes at Parc Eirin are built for the future, making it easier to lead affordable, sustainable lifestyles.

The new development is set to reshape the way we integrate renewable energy sources into our homes.

The project began late spring 2019 and has become the host site for funding from the Welsh Government Innovative Housing Programme and UK government funding for domestic Demand Side Response. This scheme is the UK pilot for Western Power’s trial of three phase power into homes, and is believed to be the largest new build example of this in the UK.

Eva Tejedor, Senior Engineer at Photon Energy said:

“This is one of the first large scale projects including Solar, Storage and EV Charging in new build homes in the UK. This is a huge accomplishment for Photon Energy, incorporating our core services into new residential projects.”

Jim McArdell, Senior Project Manager at Sero Homes said:

“It has been a great achievement to be involved in this project along with some fantastic partners. This is a glimpse into the future of what all new development properties could look with the aid of great suppliers like Photon Energy.”
