Myths about solar.
MYTH: Solar only works when the sun is out.
The sun doesn't stop "working" when it's cloudy. The energy that's useful for the solar panels is light energy, not heat energy. Your solar panels will ALWAYS produce something in the daytime, no matter the weather.
MYTH: Solar panels can’t withstand extreme weather conditions.
Solar panels are sturdy and made to last a long time in various weather conditions. Tough tests are conducted to make sure the panels are ready for the world.
MYTH: Solar panels are bad for the environment after their lifetime is used up.
Nope! Solar panels can be recycled. Also, solar panels will not emit any radiation harmful to humans or the environment.
MYTH: Solar is too expensive.
Solar is more affordable than ever with electric rates increasing. Lower solar costs and higher utility rates have improved the return of investment. Of course, the maths on when your panels will pay for themselves is different for everyone. There are factors to consider, such as how much your electrics bills are, how much energy you consume etc.
MYTH: Solar panels installation damages your roof.
Read our article and see that installation does NOT damage your roof:
MYTH: Solar panels are loud.
Not at all! They make zero noise. That’s all.
MYTH: Solar panels will provide me with electricity during a power cut.
If the power fails, your solar PV system will disconnect from the grid immediately and stop providing electricity to protect anyone working on the network. The system will automatically restart once the power cut ends.
MYTH: Solar PV system doesn't need any maintenance.
Regular maintenance, monitoring and cleaning may assist the effective life and power generation of a solar PV system, reducing the risk of damage and prolonging the life of major components.
